Fall 2026 (September 9th- November 24th)
Compensation:
$18.00 / hour Hours /Schedule:
- Tuesdays, 3:00-6:30pm
- Arts Afterschool
- Wednesdays, 3:00-6:30pm
Roots & Rebels Garden Club Applications Due:
Applications received by September 1st will be prioritized. Interviews will be on a rolling basis. The Afterschool Program Assistant will be responsible for supporting one or both of our Afterschool Programs held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3pm-6pm. This is a position for someone who wants to provide transformative learning experiences where youth engage in creative expression and critical inquiry within a safe, supportive, and loving context and serve a range of local youth (ages 7-12). While our programs range in theme, all of our after school classes prioritize healthy relationships, social emotional development, healing-centered engagement, collective culture-building, and joy. Programs run for a 9-week session in the Fall, and a 10-week session in the Spring. The Afterschool Program Assistant will support these classes in the following ways:- Support Afterschool educators with break down/clean up after the program ends.
- Understand the Kite's Nest garbage system (trash, recycle, compost) in order to support youth keeping the space clean.
- Greet youth participants as they arrive each day
- Lead games and rituals (songs and chants) during designated program times
- Support Program Team with serving meals or snack
- Support supervision of youth participants during unstructured play time
- Support Educators with classroom management by being present and engaging during workshops and activities
- Distribute supplies/materials as needed during and/or before workshops and activities
- Offer ideas, input, and feedback of program activities and systems at designated times.
Other Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Clock in and out daily and report hours to Co-Executive Director of Liberatory Education
- Communicate with program team about any anticipated absences and lateness
