Temp-to-hire Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Office Services & Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support daily mailroom operations, office services, facility upkeep, and general workplace needs at our Long Beach office. This is an in-person, part-time opportunity with a Monday-Friday schedule from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position may have the potential to convert to a full-time role if business needs increase and performance is successful. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, customer-service oriented, and comfortable balancing administrative, physical, and light maintenance responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Mailroom and Office Services Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and inter-office correspondence in a timely manner. Prepare outgoing mail and packages for shipment, including proper packaging, labeling, and postage. Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and related systems. Coordinate pickups and deliveries with external courier services, including USPS, FedEx, and UPS. Maintain accurate logs and records of incoming and outgoing tracked shipments and deliveries. Monitor inventory levels of mailroom and office supplies, including envelopes, paper, and packaging materials. Place supply orders as needed to maintain adequate inventory. Handle confidential and sensitive mail and documents in accordance with established security protocols. Facilities and Building Support Perform minor interior and exterior repairs, including basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general upkeep. Conduct routine inspections of the facility and grounds to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards. Report facility concerns and inspection findings to the Facility Manager. Perform light cleaning duties as needed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying recycling bins. Assist with meeting room setups, internal events, and general office support activities. Move office furniture and assist with desk relocations, office cleanouts, and workspace adjustments. Escort or supervise external contractors performing maintenance, repair, or installation work within the facility. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and data entry. Familiarity with mail-processing equipment, such as postage meters and scanners. Ability to use basic maintenance tools and equipment safely. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated reliability, self-motivation, and ability to work independently. Customer-service oriented and adaptable to changing priorities. Ability to work in person at the Long Beach office and commute reliably to the location. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. Heavier items may be moved with equipment such as a dolly. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a mailroom, shipping and receiving, office services, facilities, or building maintenance role. Experience coordinating deliveries, couriers, vendors, or contractors.
