High school diploma or equivalent. Shall be skilled in secretarial and general office operations; typing, filing, record keeping, telephone answering, etc. Shall have the ability to communicate and deal with people in a congenial and positive manner. Shall exhibit acceptable standards of emotional stability, moral character, sound health and be physically able to perform necessary job responsibilities. Shall excel in the verbal and written command of the English language and grammar. Shall excel in the working knowledge of word processing, data processing and other related business technology and machines, including PowerSchool or other student information systems. Shall have demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities. Shall exhibit a pleasant and dignified office manner, be neat in appearance and have the ability to adjust to change. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.CONTRACT WORK DAYS

N/AGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform all secretarial services related to student attendance in a professional and courteous manner, including but not limited to telephone and written communication skills. To be skilled in the operation of word processing, data processing, copying, duplicating, PowerSchool and other related business machines and software.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains accurate daily student attendance records in PowerSchool, including absences, tardies, early dismissals, and planned absences.
- Maintains daily sign-in/sign-out records, student attendance files, class schedules, and all related attendance documentation.
- Receives, maintains, and distributes doctor's notes and other attendance documentation.
- Communicates with parents/guardians regarding student attendance and verifies absences.
- Communicates attendance information to administrators, teachers, counselors, and other staff as needed.
- Prepares weekly and bi-monthly attendance reports for administrators.
- Monitors attendance compliance in accordance with Ohio House Bill 410.
- Types and/or word processes correspondence, forms and reports, including repeat absence day letters and student/parental discipline forms as needed.
- Acts as liaison between the Assistant Principal, students, parents, and other school-related agencies through telephone and personal contact relating to attendance, absences, and truancies.
- Maintains a professional and pleasant telephone manner and has the ability to meet and work pleasantly with other people in the system.
- Provides general office support related to student attendance.
- Carries out oral and written instructions following a minimum of explanation.
- Carries on the routine operation of the attendance office without the immediate or constant supervision of the administrator, making value judgments about those things which can be handled according to policy and those which must be referred to the administrator.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as necessary for the successful operation of the Attendance Office and as assigned by the building principal.
