Job Description
At Fava & Maria Eye Associates, customer service and patient care are our top priorities, and it all starts with the patients' experience at the front desk. The front office associate will perform a wide range of duties to assist our patients through the registration process. The front office associate will work directly with patients to schedule appointments, check them in and out, and answer any questions they might have regarding their visit. In addition to performing standard receptionist duties in our practice, the front office associate will also assist the surgical staff with clerical tasks to prepare for each week's surgeries. An individual in this position should be detail oriented with strong customer service skills. Candidates with an affinity for patient care and interaction should apply, regardless of experience. Comprehensive on the job training will be provided.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Performing standard check-in and check-out procedures. Scheduling patient appointments. Assisting patients with completing necessary forms and consents. Preparing patient charts. Faxing, scanning, filing, and mailing documentation. Answering a multiple-line telephone system, assisting callers, and transferring calls to the appropriate parties. Verifying patient insurance and eligibility. Collecting patient copays and outstanding balances. Ensuring that all necessary paperwork and documentation is in order prior to patient visits and/or surgeries. Assisting surgical coordinators with daily tasks. Multitasking and handling different patients' needs. Tracking and documenting patient medical information, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent No prior ophthalmology experience required Prior customer service experience a plus Excellent interpersonal skills Proficient with technology and computers Excellent communication and teamwork skills About us and location: At Fava and Maria Eye Associates, we care about the people who trust us with their medical and surgical eye care.
