Job Description

Overview:
The Financial Aid Department is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide coordination and support for the general day to day administrative, clerical, and operational tasks related to the successful management of a fast-past, and high performance department. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for front-desk operations, managing daily processing and communications, and providing quality customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Job Requirements:
Some experience in higher education and/or financial aid is ideal. Associate's Degree preferred. Positive attitude with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levels within a diverse, multicultural, and collaborative environment Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide a professional, helpful, welcoming tone and a positive attitude for faculty, staff, students, families, and community members interacting with the Financial Aid Office Provide support for the financial aid department such as greet and direct visitors, answer phones and emails, schedule appointments, assist with appropriate paperwork, and resolve administrative issues Assist students and families with financial aid processes or other specific student support services within federal, state and/or institutional guidelines Perform front desk tasks functions as necessary Operate standard office equipment (copier/fax machine/scanner), order and inventory office supplies May supervise and train other support staff including student workers
Hours:
35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
