Job Description

Administrative Assistant Technology & Communications Temple Adas Shalom is seeking a self-motivated Administrative Assistant with a strong background in digital communications and marketing. This role is a strategic partner to the Executive Director, responsible for maintaining the "digital face" of the Temple. We are looking for an independent professional who takes pride in high-quality optics and can manage complex recurring projects without daily supervision.
Core Responsibilities Digital Communications & Marketing Social Media & Video Management:
Manage daily content and community engagement via Meta Business Suite (Facebook/Instagram) and YouTube . Monitor engagement metrics and ensure technical readiness for weekly streaming services.
Publications & Graphic Design:
Design and produce the weekly email communications, printed bulletins, and monthly newsletters. Use Canva or Adobe to create professional-grade flyers and digital assets for marketing requests.
Website Management:
Maintain the WordPress front-end with weekly updates to the calendar and events. Perform quarterly audits of all sub-pages to ensure technical functionality and accurate information.
Development & Operational Support Ad Sales & Reporting:
Act as the primary lead for advertising sales in Temple publications. Generate monthly reports on ad revenue, social media growth, and other measurable progress metrics using ShulCloud .
Data & Systems Administration:
Conduct annual audits of third-party platforms (e.g., CallFire, Stamps.com) and maintain accurate email distribution lists in Outlook .
Administrative Coordination:
Provide high-level support for special projects, including High Holiday logistics. Coordinate the mailing of newsletters and signed donor thank-you letters.
Building Presence:
Serve as a welcoming point of contact for members and vendors, managing phones and emails with a professional and personal touch.
Position Requirements Technical Proficiency:
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Meta Business Suite , Canva, WordPress, and YouTube . Familiarity with ShulCloud or similar database management software is a plus.
Professional Autonomy:
The ability to work independently, manage a personal workflow, and prioritize tasks effectively without daily direction.
Marketing Mindset:
A sharp eye for design and an understanding of how to build community connection through digital platforms.
Schedule & Benefits Start Date:
July 2026 (Applications accepted starting May 2026).
Hours:
20 hours per week.
Preferred Schedule:
3-5 afternoons per week, including Fridays . Includes flexibility for possible hybrid work schedule.
Seasonal Requirements:
Increased hours are required during the High Holidays and when covering for the Executive Director's scheduled time off.
Compensation:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
Childcare Benefit:
Hourly staff are eligible for free childcare in our on-site preschool & summer program during working hours, subject to space availability.
