The Paideia Program and the academic departments of English, MLC (Modern Languages and Cultures), and Religion require a highly motivated, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant with strong interpersonal and written communication skills for a full-time position during the academic year and one summer monthESSENTIAL
DUTIES andRESPONSIBILITIES
Communication and coordination among faculty and students: Managing the Paideia Office and the Language Learning Center and all their contents and people Serving as the first point of contact for the Paideia Office and the Language Learning Center Hiring, training, and coordinating supervision of student workers, including the management of time cardsOrganization:
Maintaining the organizational manual of events, tasks, deadlines, etc. Organizing academic events, including lectures and senior paper presentations Helping make travel and other arrangements for guest speakers Maintaining Paideia faculty program calendar and calendars for student worker Scheduling rooms in Main for meetings, tutoring sessions, quizzes/tests Maintaining and retrieving electronic records Ordering departmental supplies Managing financial paperwork (e.g., for honoraria and reimbursements for guest speakers, department budgets) Program reviews: Assisting with the collection and collation of materials for program reviewsPublications:
print and web Assisting with the publication of the Paideia Reader Assisting with maintenance of web pages Texts and Permissions Managing Paideia book orders and desk copies Managing copyright permissions for course packsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Associates Degree required.Experience:
5 years applicable experience required. Office environment with frequent faculty and student traffic Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy office environment This position operates in a professional, collaborative office environment. The role requires efficient and extensive use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment. This role operates fully on-campus in Decorah, Iowa but occasional remote work days may be available as needed for personal reasons. Work requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or the ability to lift, carry, push or pull, or otherwise move objects with a limited amount of force.Benefits
