Job Summary The Head Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and executing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This leadership role ensures that all guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. The position blends hands-on deep cleaning with administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and performance training.
Assign room cleaning tasks, laundry duties, and public area maintenance schedules to staff members.
Briefings & Quality Control:
Conduct daily morning team briefings. Personally inspect rooms, corridors, and common areas daily to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards.
Training:
Onboard and continuously train staff on advanced cleaning techniques, property-specific procedures, and customer service standards.
Scheduling:
Create and manage shift rotas, vacation schedules, and coverage for staff absences.
Cleaning & Property Maintenance Specialized & Deep Cleaning:
Establish regular schedules for deep cleaning projects, including carpet shampooing, flipping mattresses, and window washing. Personally handle sensitive or VIP areas as needed.
Maintenance Reporting:
Identify, document, and report maintenance issues, broken fixtures, or structural damage immediately to management or the engineering department.
Monitor and order cleaning chemicals, linens, guest amenities, and bathroom supplies.
Cost Control:
Keep track of operational expenses within the department to minimize waste and stay within budget guidelines.
Vendor Coordination:
Liaise with external specialized cleaning vendors, laundry services, and supply distributors.
Safety & Compliance Health & Regulations:
Ensure full departmental compliance with local health regulations, chemical usage safety protocol (e.g., OSHA, Safety Data Sheets / SDS), and sanitation guidelines.
Hazard Resolution:
Promptly identify and resolve safety hazards in the work environment.
Skills & Qualifications Experience:
Proven experience as a housekeeper, with a preference for prior supervisory or lead experience in hospitality or high-end residential settings.

Capacity to bend, stoop, stand for extended periods, and navigate stairs continuously throughout a shift.
Pay:
$14.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
