Job Description

THE POSITION
As a Clerical Supervisor 1 with the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will be part of a workplace that values teamwork and strong organization. You will help keep essential clerical functions on track while supporting staff across the Selinsgrove Center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides leadership and support to clerical staff who assist several departments across the facility. It plays an important role in maintaining efficient operations and ensuring accuracy. As a Clerical Supervisor 1, you will perform the following duties:
Staff Supervision:
Assign duties, guide clerical employees, and oversee daily work
Training and Reviews:
Conduct staff training, complete evaluations, and address discipline and grievance resolution
Scheduling Oversight:
Approve leave requests and prepare schedules that ensure coverage
Mail Operations:
Monitor mail room activities and manage equipment, supplies, and related contracts
Time Tracking:
Review staff time use and maintain accurate records in shared folders
Hiring Support:
Participate in interviews, assist with filling vacant clerical positions, and reviews position descriptions
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime as needed Free parking

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
