Job Description
Performs extensive customer service focused on responding to inquiries from the general public, relating to civil, guardianship, small claims, evictions, family, mental health, domestic violence, traffic, criminal, jury, research services, and recording related functions. Prepare detailed clerical work that requires the application of various work methods, procedures, practices, and departmental functions related to the Clerk's office. Must exhibit the ability to display excellent communication and computer skills. This position is hybrid working both front counters in St Lucie West Annex and Fort Pierce locations based on staffing needs. Delivers courteous and professional face-to-face customer service, resolving customer complaints, problems, answering inquiries all in accordance with existing statutory limits, or refers to appropriate department. Manages a large volume of on-site customers and provides appropriate solutions and alternatives within an acceptable time frame. Responsible for cashiering, accepting telephone payments, establishing payment plans, and balancing daily. Assists individuals with self-help methods for researching on the Clerk's website Assist customers with passports. Ability and willingness to perform marriage ceremonies and process marriage licenses regardless of the couple's race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Assist with all aspects of Traffic functions such as citation intake processes, data entry, filing, court related tasks and communication with outside agencies. Responsible for monitoring the department's email account and fax communication. Maintains acceptable metrics and performance standards, including effectiveness, efficiency, and quality. Remain updated on department-specific procedures/laws to provide accurate information. Performs additional duties and provides operational support across the Customer Care Center Department and the organization as assigned by the Clerk, Chief Operating Officer, Directors, or Manager. Graduation from high school or a General Educational Development (GED) required.
