The Education Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Education Department, assisting with the coordination of programs, services, and daily operations that support the academic success and cultural education of Tribal members. Working under the direction of the Education Director, this position supports student services, program activities, recordkeeping, and departmental operations while maintaining a high level of organization, accuracy, and confidentiality.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Perform general office duties including answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies Assist with coordination and logistics for education programs, workshops, college fairs, tutoring services, and cultural enrichment activities Design and develop program outreach materials, including announcements and digital communications, to promote education programs and services. Maintain accurate and organized records for student files, scholarship applications, and program participation Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and distribute documentation as needed Track and compile routine reports related to program participation, attendance, and grant requirements Provide administrative support for student services, including assisting with scholarship applications and general program inquiries Serve as a point of contact for Tribal members, schools, and educational partners Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in compliance with FERPA and Tribal policies Assist with basic budgeting support, including invoice tracking, purchase requests, and petty cash reconciliation Provide occasional transportation support using PRCI vehicles, as assigned Attend departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities Support departmental operations through additional duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or higher degree required Minimum of two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, email systems) Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Valid, unrestricted driver's license Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comprehensive background checkPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachleor's degree prefered Experience working in an educational, youth services, or Tribal government setting Familiarity with student support services, scholarships, or program coordination Experience with grant reporting or data tracking systems. In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT
