Membership Services Coordinator Part Time - On SIte About Us Brookgreen Gardens, a National Historic Landmark located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, is a unique blend of art, nature, and history. Established in 1931, our mission is to preserve and display American sculpture and regional plants, animals, and historical sites for the education and enjoyment of the public. Spanning over 9,100 acres, Brookgreen Gardens includes a renowned sculpture garden, wildlife preserve, botanical gardens, and a rich historical landscape, offering a dynamic and inspiring experience for all visitors. Position Summary The Membership Services Coordinator plays a key role in the success of the membership program through exceptional service and support to members while helping strengthen the organization's membership program. This role serves as a welcoming and knowledgeable point of contact for members, prospective members, and volunteers, assisting with membership , renewals, benefits, account updates, and day-to-day membership needs. This position will assist with membership events, communications, and outreach efforts designed to engage and retain members. Key Responsibilities Sample job duties include: Coordinate the membership fulfillment process for all members, including corporate, volunteer, and employee memberships. Support event coordination, including operations plans, pre- and post-event follow-up communication, and serving as a point of contact for vendors. Develop content for newsletters, invitations, fliers, solicitation materials, and acknowledgements. Provide backup support for membership and donation transactions, including sales, renewals, upgrades, and gift memberships. Maintain organized and confidential member files, including updating contact information. Coordinate scheduling and training for volunteer Membership Ambassadors. Coordinate complimentary memberships, the gift membership program, and membership giveaways. Minimum Qualifications Two to three years of experience in customer service, membership services, nonprofit administration, hospitality, sales, or a related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for Windows, Microsoft Teams, and CRM software. Exceptional customer service and proactive problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and written and oral communication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage changing priorities, and meet deadlines both independently and collaboratively. Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours for events. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree or coursework in a related field. Experience working in a nonprofit setting. Work Environment This is a part-time, non-exempt, office-based position (28 hours weekly). Employment is contingent upon a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Why Brookgreen?
