Smyrna, TN Job Details Full-time $8 - $14 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a Public Health Office Assistant to provide administrative and customer service support in a county health department medical office/clinic setting. Public Health Office Assistant On-Site 1410 Sparta Street, Suite 21, McMinnville, Tennessee 37110 10 Months Responsibilities Perform county health department office and administrative work in a medical office/clinic setting. Endorse all health department services for which each patient may be eligible. Maintain a supportive team environment and contribute to achieving department goals. Register patients in a timely manner to ensure efficient clinic flow. Obtain and verify insurance information, check immunization status, and update patient contact information in applicable systems. Identify and eliminate duplicate patient records while accurately navigating multiple systems to verify correct information. Follow applicable guidelines, manuals, CHS policies, and SOPs to ensure accurate processes are followed. Provide Vital Records services according to established policies, procedures, and directives. Review birth and death certificate requests, print and document certificates, and receipt each certificate issued. Maintain 100% security of the cash box by adhering to segregation-of-duties procedures and promptly notify leadership when problems arise. Accurately scan and index all required documents into the electronic system within 48 hours. Schedule patient appointments according to CHS Booking Guidelines. Required Qualifications Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school. Two years of full-time customer service delivery and/or clerical/office work experience. Qualifying full-time customer service delivery and/or clerical/office support work may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Coursework credit from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two years. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST, 8 hours per day.
