Student Assistants will help ensure smooth daily operations by assisting students, staff, and faculty while learning valuable office and organizational skills in a supportive campus environment. Essential Job Functions What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities Greet and assist students, staff, and faculty visiting the ARC Answer phones, take messages, and route inquiries appropriately Assist with filing, copying, scanning, and organizing office records Provide clerical support for student accommodation documentation and scheduling Assist with mail distribution and office errands as needed Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Perform other tasks as assigned to support the ARC Minimum and Desired Qualifications Must be enrolled at Lamar University with a minimum 2.5 GPA Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters Dependable, detail-oriented, and professional Ability to handle confidential information responsibly Expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA and ADA standards Preferred Qualifications Customer service or office experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational and communication skills Lamar University is An Equal Opportunity Employer Lamar University is proud to provide employment preference to veteran applicants in accordance with Texas 805 Government Code, Section 657.003.
