Description/Notes:
Work under minimum supervision to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the superintendent's office and provide high-level administrative support to the superintendent and Board of Trustees. Handle confidential information and serve as a liaison between the superintendent, board members, district staff, outside agencies, and the general public. Coordinate board governance processes, respond to inquiries, direct visitors, and provide administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the central administration office.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
  • High school diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of school district organization, operations, and administrative policies
  • Ability to read andprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling
  • Excellent public relations, organization,munication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone system
  • Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance
  • Ability to multi-task numerousplex administrative activities
  • Working knowledge of the Texas Open Meetings Act and board governance procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, board processes, and district-level priorities with accuracy and attention to detail Experience
  • 3 years or more advanced secretarial experience with extensive contact with people (preferred)
