Full Time - Administrative Assistant The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Administrative Assistant at our Brenham Campus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below: Job Summary To provide administrative and clerical services to ensure effective management and efficient operations for the following departments under the supervision of the
Dean of Student Engagement:
Academic Advising; Disability Services and Counseling; Student Leadership and Activities; Testing Services. Principal Accountabilities Provides receptionist services such as meeting, greeting and assisting current students, prospective students and campus visitors. Provides answers to general questions regarding academic advising, testing, steps to receive accommodations and adjustments and other related duties for the departments related to the Dean of Student Success in the Division of Student Services. Provides administrative support to the Directors of the following departments: Academic Advising; Disability Services and Counseling; Student Leadership and Activities as well as Testing Services. This position will provide support to ensure daily operations are maintained in a professional and effective manner. Maintains and monitors any repairs to office equipment (copier, printer, fax machine, etc.). Orders and maintains adequate stock of office supplies Assists with the hiring, training and supervision of student workers Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications High School Diploma Computer proficiency in software programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving, and people skills. Minimum Competencies Must possess demonstrated understanding of the Blinn College mission, purpose and commitment to student success and high academic standards. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, parents, and the public from diverse ethnic and socio-cultural backgrounds Ability to supervise student workers in the performance of their duties Preferred Qualifications Associates degree Previous experience in a community college setting Previous secretarial experience Bilingual (English and Spanish) Preferred Competencies Experience with college database programs such as BANNER Special Notes To Applicants This is a 40 hours a week, on-campus position. This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Optional coverage can begin on your first active duty date.
