Job Description

The School Secretary provides secretarial and student attendance support for Lamoille Union High School. This is a full-time school year position.

  • Collaborate effectively with Administrators and other administrative support personnel within the high school office.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor as front-line customer service of the high school.
  • Greet, track, and direct visitors to their appropriate destination(s).
  • Answer and direct calls made to the main office.
  • Track and manage student attendance, to include but not limited to, daily attendance, sports dismissals, field trips, early and late arrivals, student privilege sign outs, etc.
  • Document attendance information in appropriate tracking systems/databases.
  • Assist in tracking high school truancies and mail out truancy letters in collaboration with the Home School Liaison.
  • Collect and maintain student weekly recurring appointment data.
  • Document and track field trip forms and distribute bus passes as needed.
  • File information sent by parent(s)/caregiver(s) and applicable student information into appropriate paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Send student absences through robocall system to listed parent(s)/caregiver(s).
  • Assist in locating students for Administrators or academic teams using phone system and/or paging system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience and/or training in secretarial and/or receptionist duties. Clerical experience and a good general understanding of public education desirable. One to three years of experience supporting a public school department preferred.

$23 to $30 Per Hour
