Representative Payee Coordinator Part Time:
20 -25 hours per week. In office only, no remote optionPosition Summary:
Broadscope Disability Services is seeking a Representative Payee Coordinator to work approximately 20-25 hours per week . This program provides professional payee services to individuals who receive monthly Social Security benefits and are unable to manage their own finances due to cognitive disabilities, mental health conditions, or substance use challenges (AODA). Ideal candidates will have prior experience working directly with vulnerable populations , including adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and/or AODA histories. This position requires not only strong administrative and organizational skills, but also patience, empathy, and effective communication —as most client interaction occurs via phone and may involve individuals who are easily confused, agitated, or overwhelmed. As a Representative Payee, you will be responsible for managing client finances in a way that prioritizes their well-being, housing stability, and access to daily necessities . This is achieved by maintaining regular contact with the beneficiary and collaborating with their broader support network.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Receive, organize, and pay bills accurately and on time for each client Create and manage individualized monthly budgets that reflect each client's unique needs Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and case notes Complete periodic reviews and documentation as required by the Social Security Administration Interact regularly—primarily by phone—with clients, guardians, care managers, vendors, and service providers Coordinate closely with support staff to ensure funds are used for the benefit of the client's health, housing, food, and personal needs Demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and respectful communication at all times Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all consumer information and financial recordsKnowledge and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work well under limited supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
