Job Description
GENERAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT OFFICE ASSISTANT II
Under general supervision, performs moderately complex and semi-specialized clerical support duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (may perform other duties as assigned):
- Types from rough draft correspondence and reports.
- Composes routine and standardized correspondence.
- Transcribes and records case histories, investigations and departmental communications.
- Proofreads and checks work for accuracy.
- Assembles data and information and enters into defined tabular format.
- Performs routine filing of correspondence, records and reports.
- Assists in maintaining records in databases, spreadsheets and logs.
- Prepares and checks papers and records.
- Analyzes, classifies and files material of a routine nature.
- Screens telephone calls and visitors and assists with general inquiries.
- Operates computers, copying machines and other office equipment.
- Sorts and distributes mail.
- Schedules work for, trains and instructs new clerical employees.
