Scale Clerk / Weigh Master Job Description The Scale Clerk / Weigh Master plays a central role in the daily operations of the plant by accurately receiving and weighing customer trucks, issuing precise tickets, and serving as the primary point of contact for drivers and visitors. This position ensures smooth truck flow, proper material handling, and effective communication between customers, plant operators, loaders, and drivers. Responsibilities Receive incoming customer trucks and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Accurately weigh trucks using scale equipment and record all weight data in the appropriate systems. Issue clear and accurate tickets to customer trucks, ensuring all required information is captured. Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct questions to the appropriate personnel. Serve as the main plant contact for truck deliveries and guest interactions. Guide truck drivers on where to dump materials and provide clear directions throughout the facility. Communicate with plant operators, loaders, and drivers to ensure materials are routed to the correct locations. Maintain organized files and records for the site, ensuring documentation is complete and up to date. Monitor truck movements and coordinate with plant staff to support efficient and safe operations. Address basic customer service issues promptly and escalate complex problems when necessary. Essential Skills Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with drivers and visitors. Ability to perform accurate weight checks and maintain attention to detail when recording data. Proficiency with computers and basic technology tools. Experience using Microsoft Suite, including Excel, for data entry and record keeping. Clear verbal communication skills for directing drivers and coordinating with plant personnel. Organizational skills for maintaining files and site records in an orderly manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working in an operational plant environment with frequent interaction with truck drivers. Ability to multitask in a busy setting, handling phone calls, in-person inquiries, and documentation simultaneously. Reliability and punctuality to support consistent plant operations during scheduled shifts. Problem-solving mindset to help resolve customer and delivery issues efficiently. Why Work Here? The scheduled shift runs from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing consistent daytime hours in a fast-paced, operational environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
