SPO & Campus Store Student Worker Kentucky Campus - Wilmore, KY 40390 Apply Overview Salary Range $11.00 Apply Description Position Title SPO & Campus Store Student Worker Department Auxiliary Services Reports To SPO & Campus Store Manager FLSA Classification (Non-Exempt) Hours per week 8-15 hours per week Position Summary To serve as the main point of contact at the Student Post Office and Campus Store. Student workers are responsible for assisting students, staff, and faculty with packages, mail delivery, and package processing. They support customers with their shopping needs, help with stocking/inventory, and process payments at the point-of-sale counter. Essential Functions SPO Responsibilities Receiving and sorting, bundling, and delivering campus mail and packages by department Receiving and sorting outgoing U.S. mail, metering, and processing mail for delivery to U.S. Postal Service; Ensuring said mail adheres to proper size, weight, packaging, postage, and other postal requirements Operating mail metering machines Locating proper addresses and making corrections for misdirected mail Forwarding student mail Campus Store Responsibilities Replenishing Ca mpus S tore and Satellite Store Inventory O rgani zing and present ing walk-in access to the Campus Store by restocking and arranging merchandise in visually appealing ways Picking and processing online orders for the store including packaging shipping labels Running POS system and staffing front counter Assisting customers with their needs in a kind and compassionate manner Counting, sorting, and labeling new products Replenishing snacks and drinks at the Seminary Snacks station and the Asbury Inn. Financial Responsibility/Authority Requires the use of a cash register and making change for customers Counting a cash register at shift end to reconcile cash drawer with register Education/Certification/Training/Experience Previous post office/retail experience is not a requirement, will train on post office knowledge Ability to walk and lift packages for up to an hour at a time The ability to lift up to 50lbs and be on feet for long periods is required Must be proficient with numbers and counting cash Must be prompt and on-time Must have a servant's heart and a willingness to put customers' needs first Ability to write coherent and professional emails Must be professional in appearance and speech
