Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Department of Veterans Affairs Location 100 Veterans Drive Wilmore, KY 40390 USA Description Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is looking for a self-motivated, energetic Cook I who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky's Veterans. Expectations for the Cook I include but are not limited to: Assists in preparing and serving meals while maintaining dietary work areas, equipment, and utensils in safe, clean and sanitary condition. Prepares and serves palatable or appetizing meals in a timely basis and in accordance with sanitary regulations. Tastes meals to determine if properly cooked and seasoned. Ensures scheduled cleaning duties (dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, etc.) are completed. Disposes of food and waste in accordance with rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. This position has an approved Locality Premium of $4.88, based on the organizational structure and work county it is currently assigned to, in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1). EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS

One year of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting. Substitute
