Job Description

Part Time Receptionist First Baptist Church Dothan, AL Primary Function:
Responsible for receiving and dispatching all phone calls and messages, and receiving and directing guests coming into FBC Dothan.
Supervisor:
The Director of Operations & Finance Administrator.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Receptionist will include, but not be necessarily limited to, the following: 1. Receive and dispatch calls and messages, and screen and operate security doors for those entering the building. 2. Handle personal relations with congregants, assist in signing congregants up for events, and assist in clerical work as assigned. 3. Greet and direct people coming into the administrative suite. 4. Keep an up-to-date hospital list daily. Forward this information to the necessary personnel. This includes advising staff and ministry of emergencies called into the church office, such as deaths, accidents, or crisis of any kind. 5. Receive deliveries and packages from mail personnel, and notify those necessary. 6. Folds the Order of Worship. Delivers the Order of Worship to the proper locations every Friday for the upcoming service Sunday morning. 7. Sorts and delivers the Sunday Bible Study rolls weekly and inputs attendance data. 8. Send necessary communications to various church groups as needed. 9. Send memorial notifications. 10. Provide weekly support in worship & service preparation. 11. Provide general secretarial support using current technology. 12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1. Must be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and remain professional at all times. 2. Must possess exceptional communication and relationship building skills while working with staff, volunteers, and congregants 3. Must be able to learn and maintain accurate data reporting with the church management software. 4. Must have basic understanding of office equipment and clerical procedures such as filing and recordkeeping. 5. Must have the ability to work independently and reliably. 6. Must be flexible and adaptable in various situations and when interacting with many different personalities. 7. Must have the ability to work with distractions, to organize, and to prioritize tasks. 8. Must have the knowledge of or familiarity with the roles and function of the church environment as opposed to the corporate environment.
Education and Experience:
1. Must be a high school graduate. 2. Ministry experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
1. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Pay:
$13.00 - $16.00 per hour
