Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist, where your energetic and positive attitude will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless communication between clients and veterinary staff. Duties Greet clients warmly, answer inquiries, and schedule appointments using veterinary software to optimize clinic flow Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle medical collections efficiently while maintaining confidentiality Assist with animal handling, restraint, and basic animal husbandry to support veterinary procedures and client education Manage phone lines, direct calls appropriately, and communicate vital information clearly to clients and staff Maintain accurate records in compliance with Veterinary Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA standards Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks related to surgery scheduling, laboratory processing, and critical care documentation Ensure the reception area is organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies for smooth daily operations Qualifications Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and veterinary software systems for scheduling and record keeping Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; kennel experience or dog training background is a plus Familiarity with laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and animal anatomy knowledge is advantageous Knowledge of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines related to veterinary practice is desirable Join us in making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners!
