Required Skills:
One year of reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Insurance verification experience preferred . Prior authorization experience preferred . OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Qualifications/Skills:
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates general computer proficiency including data entry, word processing, email, and electronic record management. Effective organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain quality and safety standards. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact by greeting patients, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner. Answer incoming telephone calls and direct callers appropriately. Provide hospital telecommunications services utilizing telephones, paging systems, radios, and other communication tools. Facilitate patient flow from referral through admission in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Obtain and verify demographic and financial information to ensure accurate patient registration and billing. Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed. Assist with obtaining and tracking prior authorizations when applicable. Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems. Maintain records related to hospital telecommunications, on-call schedules, paging, and other communication activities. Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining effective communication and exceptional customer service. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies and HIPAA regulations. Support the hospital's mission, values, and Guiding Principles through daily interactions with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers.
