Empire Ranch Veterinary Hospital About Us At Empire Ranch Veterinary Hospital, we believe veterinary medicine is about more than caring for pets—it's about caring for the people and the team behind them. We are growing our team and looking for a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Veterinary Receptionist who wants to be part of something special. Our goal is to create a hospital that feels like a small-town community: welcoming, genuine, supportive, and full of people who truly care. We are a culture-first, collaborative team that believes in supporting one another, communicating openly, and working together to provide the best possible experience for our patients, clients, and coworkers. We celebrate each other's successes, help one another through challenges, and believe that the best hospitals are built by people who genuinely enjoy working together. If you're looking for more than just a job—if you want to grow, learn, build relationships, and be part of an amazing team—we would love to meet you! The Opportunity As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be an important part of the client experience and the heartbeat of our hospital. You will be one of the first faces our clients see and a key connection between our clients, doctors, technicians, and support team. We are looking for someone who is organized, compassionate, dependable, and eager to learn. Someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and understands that every role in a veterinary hospital matters. You don't have to know everything on day one. We value a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, accountability, and a genuine desire to contribute to a team that supports one another. What You'll DoClient & Patient Care Welcome clients and their pets with warmth, compassion, and professionalism. Create a positive, fear-free experience for pets and their families whenever possible. Build meaningful relationships with clients and help them feel comfortable and cared for. Communicate clearly and compassionately regarding appointments, treatments, medications, and patient care. Answer phones, respond to client inquiries, and help clients navigate their veterinary experience. Support clients through both routine wellness visits and more stressful or urgent situations. Reception & Hospital Operations Schedule appointments and manage the hospital calendar efficiently. Check patients in and out while maintaining an organized and welcoming front desk. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure client information is up to date. Process payments and handle transactions accurately and professionally. Coordinate with doctors, technicians, and the hospital team to keep patient flow moving smoothly. Assist with medical records, estimates, treatment plans, and other client communication as needed. Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting reception area. Support inventory and other administrative tasks as needed. Collaboration & Teamwork Work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and leadership to provide exceptional patient care. Communicate effectively with the entire team to ensure everyone is informed and supported. Jump in to help teammates when needed, understanding that we all work toward the same goal. Contribute to a positive work environment where people feel respected, valued, and encouraged. Participate in team meetings, training, and hospital initiatives. Be open to feedback, new ideas, and continuous improvement. Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on commitments. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has a genuine love for animals and a passion for helping people. Is friendly, compassionate, and able to make clients feel welcome. Is dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Communicates clearly and works well with a diverse team. Is willing to learn and grow within the veterinary field. Takes initiative and looks for ways to help without always being asked. Is open-minded, receptive to feedback, and willing to adapt as our hospital grows. Understands the importance of teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude. Takes pride in providing excellent customer service and patient care. Wants to be part of a collaborative, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable workplace. Experience & Qualifications Previous veterinary receptionist, veterinary assistant, customer service, or animal care experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Veterinary hospital experience is a plus. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, scheduling, medical records, and client communication is helpful. Experience with veterinary software or practice management systems is beneficial. Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary environment. A willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow with the team. We care more about who you are, your willingness to learn, and how you treat others than having the perfect resume. Why Join Empire Ranch Veterinary Hospital?
