This is a non-housing position; employer-provided housing is not included 6 Star Management is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist / Administrative Assistant at Meridian Pointe Apartments, a 475-unit community near CSUN in Northridge, California. This is a six-month, full-time temporary position covering the front desk administrator's maternity leave . The role welcomes residents and visitors and supports daily office and property operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and service-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems under pressure. We seek someone who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and uses available resources to resolve issues while contributing to a positive team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet residents, prospective residents, vendors, and visitors; answer incoming calls, respond to emails, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member
- Sort and organize mail and resident packages and assist with distribution according to property procedures
- Assist the Property Manager and Assistant Property Manager with administrative tasks, correspondence, scheduling, data entry, and organized recordkeeping
- Respond to resident questions and concerns promptly and professionally, coordinate follow-up, and escalate issues as appropriate
- Assist with application review to ensure applicants meet company criteria while upholding Fair Housing laws and consistent screening procedures
- Assist with marketing, advertising, and outreach to generate prospective resident traffic
- Help plan and coordinate monthly resident events
- Walk vacant units to verify readiness for rental and report outstanding cleaning, maintenance, or presentation needs to the appropriate team
- Prioritize simultaneous calls, emails, resident walk-ins, and vendor appointments while maintaining accurate follow-through and professional service
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of property operations and business needs
Key Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a welcoming experience for residents, prospective residents, vendors, and visitors
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and email correspondence
- Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills, with attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping
- Ability to prioritize calls, emails, walk-ins, and vendor appointments while remaining calm and responsive in a busy front desk environment
- Resourceful problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the initiative to resolve routine issues and escalate concerns appropriately
- Basic computer and office administration skills, including email, data entry, scheduling, and document management
- Ability to handle resident and applicant information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Professional demeanor, dependable attendance, accountability, and the ability to work independently while supporting the onsite team Additional Requirements (Education, Training, and Experience):
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of customer service experience required
- Prior front desk, receptionist, office administration, or residential property management experience preferred
- Experience with AppFolio or similar property management software preferred
- Availability to work full-time, 8-hour shifts, and weekends as needed
Pay:
$19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
