Full Job Description Description:
The Behavioral Health Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the behavioral health facility by providing essential administrative and clerical support. This position involves greeting patients and visitors, scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and accurately collecting and recording data. The Behavioral Health Receptionist helps maintain and update patient records, ensuring they are organized and secure. This role also requires coordinating with healthcare providers, assisting with patient inquiries, and ensuring the smooth flow of daily operations. Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills are critical to managing daily workflows and delivering a positive experience for every patient. The following statements for this position reflect only some specific responsibilities and are considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all duties required that may be inherent in the position: Greets patients and visitors in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner. Schedules appointments for assigned clinicians, ensuring the correct clinician and appropriate time slot for each patient. Pre-registers patients, collecting all necessary personal and insurance information. Ensures that no-show and cancellation slots are promptly filled with walk-ins or add-ons as appropriate. Mails out appropriate documentation, as requested by clinician and documents in PMR. Manages the daily schedule, ensuring accurate appointments and clinical hours are utilized efficiently. Attaches required paperwork, including financial assistance forms and other essential documentation to encounter forms. Collects co-payments and maintains records of unpaid amounts during patient visits. Accurately processes financial transactions, balancing cash bags at the end of each day. Assists patients with obtaining medical records from other facilities and ensures proper consent is obtained. Answers phone calls, taking accurate messages and directing calls to appropriate staff as needed. Communicates regularly with clinicians regarding patient requests, scheduling issues, or any other related matters. Evaluates the financial status of patients and helps determine eligibility for financial programs. Assists patients with the application and enrollment processes for appropriate programs. Follows up on pending applications to ensure completion of enrollment processes. Maintains confidentiality of all patient and employee information, sharing details only with authorized personnel. Fosters a respectful and cooperative work environment, contributing to a positive clinic culture. Participates in all mandatory STP meetings and training sessions, as well as any additional assigned training programs. Participates in customer service related issues. Adheres to the following customer service values created for STP. Maintain accuracy of patient demographics and financial information in PMS. Comply with all safety, emergency, hazard, OSHA, sterilization, clinical, quality assurance, and administrative protocols, guidelines, and standards. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws to protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all communications. Perform other duties as assigned by the executive leadership and administration.Requirements:
High school diploma required or equivalent Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative support role, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting. Electronic Medical Record system experience, preferred. Language Requirements Spanish speaking required.Similar remote jobs
