Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist, where your energetic and positive attitude will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and facilitate seamless communication between clients and veterinary staff. Duties Greet clients warmly, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments with efficiency and professionalism Manage veterinary software systems for patient records, appointment bookings, and billing processes Collect payments, process medical collections accurately, and handle financial transactions with transparency Assist with animal handling during client visits, including dog handling, animal restraint, and basic animal husbandry tasks Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and laboratory record keeping Communicate clearly with clients regarding pet care instructions, surgery preparations, and follow-up care Ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines related to medication handling and record keeping Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while adhering to aseptic techniques when handling medical records or supplies Experience Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and laboratory procedures is advantageous Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication purposes Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, anesthesia monitoring, or equine care is a plus Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners from diverse backgrounds Experience in kennel management or animal restraint techniques enhances your ability to support clinical teams effectively Demonstrated understanding of veterinary software systems and medical record management Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals and their owners!
