Job Description
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Outstanding customer service skills and an ability to effectively communicate with students of all ages and skill levels, families, and other external stakeholders as necessary. Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task, and manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be professional and dependable, maintaining professional work behavior at all times. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance in connection with the preparation and organization of the classroom and the assistance of children, including any potential emergency situations. Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency and work both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to maintain physical and visual contact with children and see and hear well enough to keep children safe. Physical aspects will include, but are not limited to, walking, sitting, bending and stooping. Must maintain all required professional licensures and certifications and attend any required trainings as directed by the Principal. CPR and First Aid certification is required.The Receptionist shall:
- Answer the phone in a professional manner, being well-informed on all events, policies and procedures, being kind and courteous to all who call.
- Record daily attendance.
- Record all late students as tardy and have their parents sign them in.
- Maintain job skills to keep pace with changing technology and internal systems, primarily computer systems and PowerSchool. Participate in the District offered training classes to maintain job skills.
- Develop a complete understanding of PowerSchool and keep up on any changes or updates in the system. Make sure to keep up with all District policies.
- Receive money from parents and give each one a written receipt. Label money and give to Business Manager to lock in safe each night.
- Keep track of club money and who has paid for what. Record in receipt book and on club forms. Make sure students have all grades a "C" and above to qualify to attend clubs for the quarter.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student records in accordance with federal and state laws and School District protocols.
- Raptor all visitors and parents entering the school to help maintain a safe environment for all students and employees. Make sure that no one enters the school without proper security clearance and check-in. Maintain Raptor in working condition.
- Send late pick-up letters and keep a log of who has received which letter and dates.
- Keep desk organized and tidy as it is the first thing seen by visitors and parents.
- Record incident reports withing Power School.
- Cross train for the Registrar and Nurse Tech position.
- Oversee SOAR award and dress down day recipients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
