Full Job Description Description:
ENTITY:
Mt. Olivet Cemetery was consecrated in 1892 and is located on the western side of the Denver Metro area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. It is the largest cemetery in Colorado containing 392 acres. St. Simeon Cemetery was consecrated in 2004 and is located on the eastern side of the Denver Metro area in Aurora, Colorado. The Mortuary was opened in 1981 and now has two physical locations. The first is located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery and the second is the historic Caldwell-Kirk location on N. Marion in Denver. These entities serve the Catholic Community of the Denver metro area and its various parishes, missions, and apostolates and other members of the general public regardless of their religious affiliation.
POSITION
The Receptionist is responsible for answering the phones and guiding all our guests in the right direction depending on the reason for their visit. This position requires excellent hospitality skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Answering a multi-line phone system, Greeting and directing customers who come to visit and come for business at the location, Performing day to day administrative duties as required, Perform accurate data entry, Maintain cemetery and mortuary daily schedules, File and maintain customer information, Provide support for reconciliation of payments, deposits, and accounts, Operate e-fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit/credit machine and postage machine, Occasional errands to pick up supplies and/or make change at a bank; and, Any other duties as directed by management.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; and, Relevant work experience.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work, Refrain from public promotion or approval of any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with the Catholic doctrine or morals, Must hold current valid Colorado driver's license to perform duties, Must have excellent communication skills, Possess a high level of compassion and integrity, Possess problem solving skills, Must be detail oriented and preform duties in a timely and accurate manner, Must become a Notary within 90 days of employment: and, Possess a professional attitude and ability to be a team player.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate computer and mouse, copier/printer, and multi-line telephone, Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, Ability to work on a computer and look at a computer screen for extended periods of time, Must be able to travel within the Archdiocese of Denver territory; and, Must be able to move around enough to pull and replace files in a variety of file cabinet types.
