Job Description

About us Diamond Computer has been Delaware's local IT company since 1997. We manage the networks, computers, and security for businesses, medical and dental practices, law firms, town governments, fire companies, schools, and contractors across the state. We're a small, hands-on team that knows every client by name, and we're looking for the person who keeps the front of the house running. The role You are the first voice our clients hear and the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks. When a client calls because their server is down or their printer won't print, you get the details right, get it logged, and get it to the right technician. When the job is finished, you make sure it's written up and ready to bill. The phone keeps you busy, the work is varied, and you'll get a lot of appreciation from people you'll come to know well. What you'll do Answer and route a steady flow of incoming client calls and emails, and greet walk-in customers Capture each request accurately — who, what, which machine, how urgent — and open the work order in our service system (FieldPulse) Schedule and dispatch technicians, keep the day's calendar current, and let clients know when to expect us Follow up on open items: parts and equipment orders, quotes waiting on a client answer, and calls that need a callback Help keep billing moving — confirm completed work is documented, turn work orders into invoices, and follow up on unpaid invoices Order supplies, handle mail and the shipping/receiving of client equipment, and keep the front office organized General administrative support for the owner and the technical team What we're looking for Dependable and punctual — in a small office, every absence is felt Clear, friendly phone manner and good written English; comfortable telling a client "here's what happens next" Organized enough to keep a long list of open items straight without being reminded Comfortable with computers and quick to learn new software (Microsoft 365, our service and accounting systems). You do not need to be technical — our technicians do the fixing Discretion with client information One year or more in reception, dispatch, scheduling, customer service, or office administration preferred — we will train the right person QuickBooks or bookkeeping experience, or experience in a service/trades dispatch office, is a plus High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license Pay and benefits $17.00 per hour Paid holidays and paid time off Health coverage support through an ICHRA — we reimburse part of the cost of an approved individual health plan Retirement savings through the Delaware EARNS program, contributed straight from payroll A stable local company, 28 years in business, with an owner who works right alongside you Varied days and real responsibility from week one — no scripts, no cubicle farm To apply Email your resume to mailto:hiring@diamondcomputer.com with "Receptionist" in the subject line, and tell us in a line or two why a small local company appeals to you. Please do not call or stop by about this position — every resume that comes to that address is read. Diamond Computer Incorporated is an equal opportunity employer.
