$17.00-$18.00 per hour About Us Florida Rheumatology Associates is seeking a dependable, friendly, and highly organized Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our Avon Park team. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, professional, and thrives in a fast-paced medical office while providing outstanding customer service to our patients. Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday No weekends Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Optional employee benefits Supportive team environment Responsibilities Welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner. Perform patient check-in and check-out. Answer a high volume of incoming telephone calls. Monitor voicemail messages and promptly return patient calls. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Verify and update patient demographics. Create new patient charts and maintain accurate electronic medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Scan, upload, and file medical records and patient documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR). Assist with organizing and maintaining patient charts. Collect copays, outstanding balances, and other patient payments. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Communicate professionally with physicians' offices, hospitals, pharmacies, insurance companies, and other healthcare facilities. Work closely with providers and coworkers to ensure smooth daily office operations. Occasionally travel to our Winter Haven office to provide coverage and support. Travel is shared on a rotating basis among front office staff members. Complete additional administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Minimum of 1 year of medical office experience. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer and data entry skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Professional appearance and respectful attitude. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel occasionally to our Winter Haven office as part of a rotating staff coverage schedule. Please do not apply unless you have prior medical office experience. Experience in a physician's office is required.
