Job Summary The DCF Family Safety Receptionist will provide administrative and front-desk support to the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), assisting Child Protection and Children's Legal Services. This role will serve as a first point of contact for customers, clients, and families by answering inquiries, directing calls and visitors to the appropriate person or resource, handling customer complaints, and completing follow-up as needed. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to general inquiries. Welcome clients and families visiting the office and provide appropriate assistance. Refer calls and in-person inquiries to the appropriate person, office, or resource. Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally. Complete follow-up on customer inquiries when necessary. Process incoming and outgoing mail using the office postage machine. Prepare and process closure letters. Perform case filing and maintain organized records. Access and use forms through the department's shared drive. Assist with employee interviews as needed. Receive supply deliveries and place supplies in the designated supply room. Maintain and restock the office "Blue Book." Deliver faxes at the end of the day. Replenish copier paper at the end of the day. Empty recycling boxes every Tuesday and Friday. Tidy and maintain the playroom when it is used. Provide general administrative assistance to the Family Safety Service Center. Required Qualifications Ability to speak and understand English. Ability to operate common office equipment, including: Copier Fax machine Postage machine At least 2 years of strong job tenure in a professional office environment. At least 1 year of customer-facing customer service experience in a professional environment. Professional appearance and courteous, professional interaction with customers. #
