This position is intended for candidates who have previous experience working at the front desk of a veterinary hospital or animal clinic. General receptionist experience without veterinary experience may not be sufficient for this position. Responsibilities Answer and manage incoming telephone calls Schedule appointments, surgeries, rechecks, and follow-up visits Check clients and patients in and out Maintain accurate client and patient information Collect payments and explain invoices and estimates Communicate professionally with clients regarding appointments, medications, records, and hospital policies Request and send veterinary medical records Prepare charts, consent forms, and other client documents Coordinate communication between clients, technicians, and veterinarians Assist with prescription and food requests according to hospital procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area Handle multiple tasks professionally in a busy environment Qualifications Previous veterinary receptionist experience is required Familiarity with veterinary terminology, vaccines, medications, and common hospital procedures Excellent telephone, communication, and customer-service skills Comfortable discussing estimates and collecting payments Strong computer, typing, scheduling, and organizational skills Dependable, professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Able to manage challenging situations and communicate calmly with clients Availability to work some weekends as scheduled Experience using Neo Veterinary Software is required. Compensation $18.00-$22.00 per hour , depending on veterinary experience, qualifications, abilities, and position responsibilities.
