Florida Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our busy and growing 1.5-doctor practice. Family owned and operated , we have proudly cared for the pets and people of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County since 1989. We provide personalized, high-quality veterinary care including preventative medicine, diagnostics, dental and surgical services, while working hard to keep that care accessible and affordable for our community. We're a smaller practice by design, which allows us to know our clients, know our patients, and truly know our team. What We're Looking For We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Receptionist with at least two years of veterinary experience . Our ideal candidate would be cross-trained in veterinary assisting and reception, with basic veterinary technician skills—or a strong interest in developing those skills. This is a great position for someone who enjoys both the medical and client-service sides of veterinary medicine . You should be comfortable with veterinary terminology, common services and procedures, and communicating detailed medical information clearly and compassionately to clients.
Our ideal team member is:
Punctual and reliable — we depend on one another, and every team member plays an important role in keeping the day running smoothly. Outgoing and people-oriented — someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with clients and making them feel welcome and cared for. A problem solver — able to think on their feet, take initiative, and look for solutions rather than simply identifying problems. A team player — willing to jump in and help wherever needed, whether that means assisting with a patient, answering the phone, helping a client, or supporting a coworker. Organized and adaptable — comfortable prioritizing and multitasking in a busy veterinary environment. Compassionate and professional — understands that our clients are trusting us with members of their family. Confident and communicative — able to accurately explain veterinary services and detailed information to clients while knowing when to ask questions or seek help. Committed to excellent patient care — takes pride in treating every patient with patience, kindness, and respect. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who will greet every client with a smile, approach every interaction with genuine care, and come to work each day ready to contribute to the team. Why Our Team Loves FVC We believe the best veterinary care comes from a team that enjoys working together. Our previous team members have consistently described FVC as a place where they felt supported, respected, appreciated, and part of something bigger than a job. "Even on our busiest days, I was still able to smile because of the amazing staff I was surrounded by. I never felt like this was a place of work, it was home."— Kristina, Former Veterinary Technician"Dr. Anthony and the team not only brought me on board and gave me all the training to become a technician, but Dr. Anthony went above and beyond to provide mentorship and guidance to help me get into vet school and become the doctor I am today."— Dr. Sanderbeck, Former Team Member"Are you searching for a low-stress, non-toxic, respectful environment? Then you've found the right place! The doctors are kind, and management is caring and fair."—
