Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Check-Out Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and vital first point of contact for patients as they complete their visits. This role is essential in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient administrative support within a busy medical/chiropractic practice. Your energetic and detail-oriented approach will help create a welcoming environment while managing critical front desk operations with professionalism and care. You will handle patient check-out procedures, coordinate billing and insurance processes, and support the overall clinic experience through excellent customer service and administrative excellence. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly as they check out, ensuring a positive and professional experience. Verify patient information, update electronic health records (EHR) systems, and review documentation for accuracy. Collect payments, process insurance billing, and handle patients questions. Manage patient scheduling for follow-up appointments and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure seamless care plans Answer phone inquiries with courteous phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and provide general administrative support. Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper filing of electronic health records (EHR) in accordance with health information management standards. Skills Strong knowledge of medical collection processes, insurance billing, and healthcare coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
coding standards. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. experience with EHR management is highly preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and health insurance procedures including Medicare. Demonstrated clerical experience with office management tasks such as filing, typing (including 10-key), data entry, and document review. Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite to support administrative functions efficiently. Previous clinic or medical office experience is highly desirable. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
