Job Description
Kulana Malama is a caring, family-centered pediatric healthcare community dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to our keiki and their families.
Position:
Receptionist/Admin Assistant -Pediatrics Status:
Non-Exempt, Full-Time 8 hours, 40 hours/week. Weekends and holidays, according to facility/company needs. Overtime may be required, as needed.EQUIPMENT USE
Frequent use of automated telephone system, copier, personal computer/printer, facsimile machine, copier, stamp machine, calculator, and general office supplies. Occasional use of wheelchairs.MENTAL DEMANDS
Duties require attention to detail, alertness, organization, problem solving, tolerance to mental and emotional stress, ability to follow orders/directions, sound judgment, mathematical ability, abstract thinking, and intuitive sense. Prioritizes tasks under deadlines. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Continuously sitting for long periods of time. Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, fingering, use of eye hand-foot coordination, corrected vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, color vision, auditory, olfactory, and tactile senses. Frequent bending over, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing; pulling, sitting, reaching, climbing/balancing on a step stool to reach supplies/equipment, climbing stairs, carrying up to 25 pounds. Occasionally requires crawling, running, pushing up to 250 pounds, pulling up to 250 pounds, and lifting up to 50 pounds.COMMUNICATION DEMANDS
Frequent talking/listening to co-workers, residents, physicians, visitors, vendors, government agencies/personnel, reading, talking on telephone, receiving orders/instructions, speaking, and writing/composing written language (English). Communicates pertinent information in a timely manner to appropriate personnel. Must be able to manage hostile and emotionally upset persons.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school graduate or equivalent required. Minimum of six (6) months in a clerical position or successfully completed secretarial program from an accredited school or college. Ability to type 45 words per minute. Knowledge of basic personal computer skills (spread sheets and word processing) required. Must be able to type 40 words/minute on computer. Prior employment experience in a pediatric, long-term care, and/or acute or health-related setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practice preferred. Be able to assist with supply management and staffing.Benefits
