May schedule appointments or meeting rooms, gather patient information, or assist with filing or other administrative support work.
8AM-5PM The Radiation Oncology Scheduler/Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in coordination the delivery of radiation oncology services. This position is responsible for scheduling consultations, simulation appointments, radiation treatments, follow up visits, and other related services while ensuring efficient clinic operations and exceptional patient care. In this position, you will greet patients, answer multi line phone calls, verify patient demographics and insurance information, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate electronic medical records. This role will also work closely with radiation oncologists, nurses, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, and other members of the oncology team, this role ensures timely communication, seamless scheduling, and compassionate support for patients throughout their cancer treatment journey. Candidate will also participate in performance improvement and CQI activities as requested.
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: High School diploma or equivalent required, healthcare administration or medical office experience preferred. Minimum 2 years of medical scheduling, registration, or healthcare receptionist experience preferred. Knowledge of Radiation Oncology workflows and terminology, including consultations, simulation (CT Sim), treatment planning, daily radiation treatments and follow up appointments preferred. Ability to coordinate complex schedules among radiologists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, physicists, and nursing staff. Ability to provide accurate data entry and documentation skills with close attention to detail. Ability to sit, stand, and perform clerical duties for extended periods as required. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) and scheduling systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, computer knowledge, typing, multi-line phones, faxes, printers and scanners.
