Posted 03-Aug-2026 (CST) Health Department 2550 North Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb, IL, USA 16.55 per hour Eligible for annual bilingual stipend Hourly Eligible for paid time off and holiday pay based on hours worked The DeKalb County Health Department is seeking a part-time receptionist. The receptionist will greet, assist and provide direction and information to clients and visitors of the Health Department. The position is 20 hours per week, on a flexible schedule, which may be adjusted as needed. Responsibilities Welcomes clients and visitors by greeting in person and on the telephone, answering questions and referring questions to other staff members. Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition. Receives mail, documents, packages and courier deliveries and distributes items. Performs routine clerical tasks and other duties as assigned. Process walk-in birth certificate requests. Requirements Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the public and employees. Basic word processing, spreadsheet and database skills. Ability to think critically and multi-task. Dependable and responsible. High School graduate or equivalent required. English/Spanish bilingual required. Must be 18 years of age. Must pass a background check.
