Job Opportunity:
Front Desk Receptionist Premier Orthopaedic and Hand Center Are you a professional, welcoming individual who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment? Premier Orthopaedic and Hand Center is seeking a dedicated Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. As the face of our practice, your professionalism and attitude will directly impact the patient experience and represent our commitment to quality care. Primary Responsibilities Patient Interaction & Professionalism Greet patients warmly upon arrival and offer assistance as needed. Maintain a welcoming, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times. Answer phones promptly and professionally, screening and directing calls or taking accurate messages. Monitor patient wait times and communicate any delays in a professional manner. Ensure all processes comply with HIPAA and patient privacy guidelines. Scheduling & Data Management Schedule patient appointments efficiently. Verify and enter accurate patient demographic and insurance information, including email and portal access. Confirm patient addresses and verify insurance eligibility during calls. Run eligibility checks via portals such as Availity, UHC, and Medicare . Manage appointment confirmations, reminders, and rescheduling via calls or texts. Financial & Administrative Duties Collect co-pays and outstanding balances, clearly explaining insurance benefits to patients. Perform daily payment balancing and provide reconciliation reports to the office manager. Process electronic medical record (EMR) requests, including invoicing and updating logs. Handle HMO referrals and ensure referring providers are correctly linked to PT and OT appointments. Collect and track fees for disability or FMLA forms. Coordination & Workflow Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accuracy for Workers' Compensation (WC) and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) cases. Work closely with medical assistants and therapists to ensure timely patient care. Manage check-out duties, including scheduling follow-ups and issuing work or school notes.
Job Expectations & Requirements Insurance Proficiency:
Must be familiar with accepted insurances and proactive in learning those we do not accept.
Technical Accuracy:
High attention to detail is required when scanning documents into the EMR system and entering billing data to reduce errors.
Referral Management:
All team members must be proficient in processing referrals.
Reliability:
Strict adherence to call-off procedures and advanced notice for time off is required.
Team Collaboration:
Lunch breaks are staggered (30 minutes) to ensure the front desk is never left unattended.

Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
