Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your proactive approach will help streamline clinic operations, facilitate accurate documentation, and uphold the highest standards of patient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality healthcare delivery through exceptional front desk support and administrative excellence. This is a part-time position, working approximately five days per week. Hours vary based on office needs and provider availability and may change week to week. Flexibility is required. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process. Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification using systems such as Availity or other EMR/EHR platforms. Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software; manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette. Collect and review patient documentation, including medical history forms, care plans, and consent forms, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with medical billing and collection processes; process payments and follow up on outstanding balances related to Medicare or other insurance providers. Maintain organized medical records in electronic health records (EHR) systems; ensure proper filing and documentation review. Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR) management. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow; communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding patient needs and appointment updates. Skills Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare front desk roles within clinics or dental offices. Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, claims submission, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and procedures. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems or at least familiarity. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems and demonstrate professional phone etiquette. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies (HIPAA), and health information management standards. Adept at using Microsoft office/Google Drive applications for documentation and communication purposes. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor and professionalism at all times.
