Work Schedule:
Monday-Thursday:
8:45 AM-6:15 PM, with a lunch break
Friday:
Half-day morning administrative shift with no patient hours Approximately 40 hours per week Are you an experienced medical billing professional who is organized, dependable, and enjoys working with people? We are a well-established, patient-focused healthcare practice in Lenexa, KS, looking for an experienced Medical Billing & Front Desk Coordinator to become an important part of our team. Our practice is built around compassionate, personalized care and long-term relationships with the patients and families we serve. We believe that a great patient experience starts with a team that is organized, supportive, dependable, and committed to helping one another succeed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the detail-oriented side of medical billing but also likes interacting with patients and being part of the day-to-day flow of a healthcare office. In this role, you'll take ownership of medical billing while also helping coordinate our front desk and patient experience. You'll work closely with a small, supportive team in a busy practice serving approximately 200 patient visits each week. Medical billing experience is required , but chiropractic billing experience is not. If you understand medical billing fundamentals, insurance verification, accounts receivable, and collections, our team can train you on our practice-specific systems and processes. We're looking for someone who wants more than just their next job. Main Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day medical billing responsibilities accurately and efficiently Verify patient insurance benefits and coverage Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances Assist with collections and resolve billing-related questions Support billing for insurance and Personal Injury (PI) cases Communicate professionally with patients regarding insurance, billing, balances, and other account questions Provide front desk coverage and help coordinate daily patient flow Welcome patients and provide friendly, professional customer service Handle patient questions and concerns with professionalism and care Maintain accurate patient and billing information Follow established office procedures, policies, and billing processes Help keep the front office organized and running efficiently Communicate and collaborate with other team members to ensure responsibilities are completed Identify issues, take initiative, and help find solutions rather than waiting for problems to escalate Assist with administrative projects and additional responsibilities as needed Potentially assist with tracking practice metrics and KPIs as the role develops
What We're Looking For:
Previous medical billing experience is required Experience with medical insurance verification, accounts receivable, and collections Chiropractic billing experience is a plus, but not required Personal Injury (PI) billing experience is a plus Healthcare, medical, chiropractic, wellness, dental, or similar office experience preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills Reliable, punctual, and consistent Friendly and confident communicating with patients Professional and mature when handling sensitive or challenging situations Comfortable working in a busy, patient-facing environment Able to follow established procedures and policies consistently Proactive and willing to take ownership of responsibilities Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a small team Interested in a stable, long-term position and professional growth We appreciate your interest and look forward to learning more about you!
