Job Description
Insights Eyecare is an optometric practice that prioritizes quality care over speed of care. We strive to provide our patients with an excellent experience through patience, education, a positive attitude, and high-quality service. We currently are seeking a Receptionist/Optometric Assistant. The available position is part-time (approx. 20 hours per week) We are looking for an individual who is self-directed and excited to learn new skills. We value our employees and will train the right person
- no optometric experience is necessary.
Reception Duties:
- Answer the phone and transfer calls or take messages
- Schedule patient appointments
- Greet patients with a smile and positive attitude
- Input patient data into the Electronic Health Record
- Prepare patient charts
- Maintain cleanliness of reception and front desk areas
- Check in/check out patients as they enter/leave their appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility
- Post patient payments
- Maintain a patient priority list for appointment cancellations and reschedules
- Monitor online appointment requests
Optometric Assistant Duties:
- Work with patients before they see the doctor to obtain information pertinent to their visit.
- Check visual acuities
- Update patient's medication history
- Obtain and document the reason for the appointment and any concerns the patient would like addressed
