This person is the first person spoken to on the phone or by email, as well as the face that greets the client when he/she arrives. Receptionists need to be personable, knowledgeable, and able to listen to and understand the client's needs. They also must be able to be firm in ensuring that our protocols and payment policies are followed, and use good judgment in identifying any exceptions. They also need to be adept at multi-tasking and self-organization. Primary Duties Greet and check in clients Enter data from new client forms, consent forms, and received records. Answer phones and set appointments; research needed treatments as part of setting appointment. Review completed invoices with clients and accept payment on invoice. Open and close the clinic. Handle routine communications with clients and other clinics, by email, fax, phone, and mail. Keep the back staff informed about client and patient arrival, and any other issues that may come up. Sell over the counter products and educate on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives sold in the clinic. Secondary Duties Keep the reception area neat and clean. Fill prescriptions. Care for in-house patients (feeding, walking, cleaning kennels, medicating). Occasionally assist technicians in holding animals for things like blood draws, nail trims, and x-rays. Clinic hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Mon-Fri and 8:00 am-12:00 pm Saturday. Employees would need to be in at 7:30 am to prep for the day. Full time employees are eligible for benefits after a probationary period. Please provide 3 work related references with resume.
