The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office environment and be comfortable managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, obtaining medical histories, and supporting front office operations. Experience with medical billing and Athenahealth is preferred but not required. Responsibilities Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner Answer and direct incoming phone calls Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments Collect and document patient medical histories and demographic information Verify insurance eligibility and patient information Maintain accurate electronic medical records Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up appointments Process patient paperwork and obtain required documentation Assist with patient check-out procedures Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and patients Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements Support general administrative and front desk duties QualificationsRequired Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office setting Experience obtaining and documenting patient medical histories Experience scheduling patients and managing appointment calendars Strong customer service and communication skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Proficiency with computers and electronic medical record (EMR) systems Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment Preferred Experience with medical billing and insurance verification Experience using Athenahealth (AthenaOne) EMR/practice management software Knowledge of medical terminology Experience working in a physician practice, specialty clinic, or outpatient setting Benefits Competitive compensation Paid time off Supportive team environment
