In this vital front-line role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Your expertise in medical administrative support, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and health information management will be essential in maintaining smooth clinic operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care while demonstrating exceptional customer service skills and clinical confidentiality adherence. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through the check-in process Manage appointment scheduling using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Nextech and other platforms Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle medical collections with accuracy and professionalism Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Assist with documentation review, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally Support medical office management tasks including filing, data entry and maintaining organized medical records Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting, preferably in a clinic or dental practice Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Nextech or other platforms Familiarity with health insurance processes including Medicare billing,VSP, Eyemed and health information management Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion following HIPAA guidelines Strong clerical skills including filing, scanning documents, phone communication, and data entry Prior clinic experience is highly desirable; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join our team as an Optical Receptionist and become a key player in delivering outstanding patient care!
