Position Summary A behavioral health front desk receptionist is the first point of contact as individuals guests enter our location and is responsible for greeting individuals & guests, sign-in, and supporting daily office workflows with empathy and discretion.
Core Responsibilities Services:
Greet visitors, manage the waiting room, register new guests, schedule testing manage restrooms, maintain confidentiality,
Communication & Triage:
Answer multi-line phones, route messages, and follow strict protocols to escalate phone-based or in-person distress to clinical staff.
Privacy & Compliance:
Protect privacy data under strict HIPAA guidelines, applying minimum-necessary access standards to private health information.
Key Skills & Requirements Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is standard, with at 6 months experience in healthcare customer service or administrative experience preferred.
Soft Skills:
High emotional intelligence and patience when interacting with individuals facing substance use challenges.
Other Duties:
Performs other tasks or assignments which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job.
Education and Experience:
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED Front desk experience (6 months experience: 1 year preferred) Compliance & Ethical Standards Adheres to professional ethics and policies. Upholds a culture of clinical excellence. Ensures all practices align with
COMAR , BHA
guidelines, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Joint Commission standards.
