Job Description
General description and duties: Peachtree Veterinary Clinic is looking for a trustworthy and detail-oriented Kennel Attendant/Receptionist to (1) oversee the well-being of the animals in our care, and (2) further strengthen the initial point of contact where our clients are welcomed and assisted as they require our services. At Peachtree, a Kennel Attendant/Receptionist performs the following duties: Prepares food for pets, including any medications (as instructed by the attending doctor). Assists doctors and technicians with the administration of medications or with patient restraint. Provides each animal with fresh food and water; remove food bowls once the pets have finished eating. Walks all dogs in fenced area. Accurately records appetite and eliminations. Helps with washing, drying and folding of laundry. Cleans any dirty cages or animal living areas. Informs the veterinary team of any health issues with the guest pets. Makes preparations for any pets checking in. Receives animals to be admitted, is responsible for their proper identification and for recording their respective locations and belongings. Bathes dogs checking out the following day. Assists with nail trimming, ear cleaning, expressing anal glands, and dipping procedures. Manages multi-line phones and schedules appointments. Creates new patient files, maintains electronic medical records, scans documents, and facilitates the transfer of records to (and from) specialty or referral hospitals Checks for any phone messages or emails and respond. Receives and verifies payments after each consultation. Ensures the reception area and waiting room remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
