Job Description
Topsham Veterinary Wellness Center is looking for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This is more than a customer service position; our receptionists are an essential part of patient care. We're looking for someone who is warm, compassionate, highly organized, and able to confidently navigate a busy medical environment while supporting clients and our clinical team. What You'll Do Welcome clients and patients with kindness and professionalism Schedule appointments while understanding appointment types and medical urgency Answer phones, emails, and text messages efficiently and compassionately Triage client concerns and communicate effectively with our medical team Process prescription refill requests and communicate medication information accurately Maintain accurate medical records and client information Handle payments and daily administrative tasks Keep multiple priorities moving while maintaining excellent attention to detail What We're Looking For Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or another fast-paced medical setting is strongly preferred A solid understanding of basic veterinary medical terminology Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities The ability to think critically, solve problems independently, and know when to ask for help Someone who remains calm, kind, and efficient during busy periods The Right Person for This Role Our practice is fast-paced and collaborative. New information is introduced daily, and success in this position requires someone who enjoys learning, retains information well, and can apply what they've learned to new situations. While training and support are always provided, we're looking for someone who becomes increasingly independent and confident as they grow into the role.
